Self Awareness is Selfcare
Without fail, the seasons change but we forget to shift with them. In this workshop, learn about your true constitution through the lens of Ayurveda…the lens of the seasons of the day, year, and our lives. We are microcosms of our planet and we need to decide if we want to fight or befriend Mother Nature. Only then can we stoke our strengths and nurture our needs. This workshop will be filled with AHA moments. You will go home with a better understanding of what drives you and what drives you into a ditch. You’ll also walk away with tips and tricks to keep you energized and nourished no matter what is going on outside your window or inside your body.
Digestion and Immunity
According to Ayurveda, the strength of our digestion determines our overall health and wellbeing. If our digestion is strong, our body can turn poison into nectar. But when our digestion is weak, it can turn nectar into poison. Learn how to stoke the fires of digestion, strengthen your immune and nervous systems and super charge your energy.
Good Night, Sleep Tight
Unable to sleep through the night? Hard to fall asleep or even harder to wake up and pull yourself out of bed the next morning? Sleep is the time when the body repairs and heals itself while our brains reboot for a fresh and balanced start the next day. The workshop is a foundation for a good night’s rest and more importantly a lifetime of good health. Together, lets build up your sleep hygiene without having to count sheep or roam the night looking for a night time snack.
Toilet Bowl or Crystal Ball
Our bodies don't lie and being able to translate what our sweat, urine, and BMs are telling us can make all the difference in the world to our health and vitality. Spend an hour getting to know yourself from the inside and what comes out. Then make better, more informed, choices for eating, exercise, and your lifestyle.
Daily Routine and Rituals
The human body and mind crave routine and our organs are designed to run most efficiently when we’re on a schedule. So it’s important to establish a daily routine to maximize good health and vitality. Once in balance, we crave things our belly and our mind really need. This workshop will help you find the habits that serve you and crowd out those that don’t.
Food Glorious Food
Who knew that not just what you eat but when you eat it and what foods you combine for a meal make all the difference between feeling healthy and vital or ill and sluggish? The Ancient Vedic Scholars knew 5000 ago and you can put the pieces together on healthy eating during this workshop. We will put the mixed messages about intermittent fasting and food stacking to rest and gobble up simple guidelines for healthy eating. Promise to send folks home with must try (and super simple) seasonal recipes.
Jet Lag, Irregularity, and Insomnia...Oh My
Staying grounded and balanced when traveling can be challenging. Your daily routine is thrown off and if you fly across time zones, you are aggravating the energy of movement. Spend an hour with your feet firmly planted on the ground to learn the tricks for travel whether it is by planes, trains or automobile.
Oil Before Toil
Like the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz, the ancient texts of Ayurveda dictate that the human body gets stronger and resistant to wear and tear through the application of oil. During this one-hour hands-on workshop, learn the art of several forms of Ayurvedic treatments involving oil, massage (abhyanga), nose and ear oil pulling (nasya and karana purna), and skin brushing (garshana). You will go home nourished and fortified.
Jyotisha and Vastu...Shift the Furniture to Fit the Stars
Jyotisha is the traditional Hindu system of astronomy and Vastu is the ancient Indian science of architecture that predates and influenced Feng Sui. Spend an hour learning the properties of two of Yoga’s sister sciences and you will likely want to shift your bed or change up your weekly routine to maximize the energies of the planets that already are influencing our daily, monthly, and seasonal rhythms.
